Bokoharam Kills Six In Borno State

The Islamic State of West African Province ISWAP which is widely known as Bokoharam has carried out an attack that has killed six civilians in the Kamuya area of Borno state. The terrorists hid a landmine in the road which the car ran into, resulting in an explosion.

Attack of this sort and military ambush have become a common phenomenon in the Northeast where the seemingly endless war against Bokoharam is heavily raging on.

The attack occurred at Kamuya village as the commercial vehicle was between Biu and Damaturu which is the Yobe State capital. The incident has generated a heated debate on the level of dominance the terrorists' group have in the Northeast region.

The government of Muhammadu Buhari had declared the group technically defeated but attacks of this sort have continued. There are also reports that the terrorists attack IDP camps in search of food and other resources.

The Nigerian Army in recent times have also been developing new strategies to tackle and contain the insurgency.
