The Nigerian Labour Congress has not announced any reasonable progress from the ongoing negotiations with the federal government on the implementation of the new minimum wage.
The minister of labor and employment Chris Ngige had earlier announced that the government began implementation of the minimum wage on workers on a lower level scale.
Generally, there has been no impactful conclusion on its implementation leading to threats of industrial actions as pressure mounts on labor to conclude on the implementation of the minimum wage which has delayed.
The presidency has on many occasions assured workers that they will soon reach an agreement with the Labour union on the implementation of the new minimum wage which is already generating so much controversy in the public space.
