Court Grants Sowore Bail, Orders Him To Hand Over His International Passport.

After spending almost two months in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS) Omoyele Sowore the founder of Sahara reporters has been granted bail by the courts.

He was picked from his residence by operatives of the DSS After he planned a Nationwide #RevolutionNow protest. The court required that as part of his bail conditions, he must submit his international passport so that he would not run away.

The government is accusing Sowore who was a presidential candidate in the 2019 presidential election of planning to overthrow the democratically elected government of President Muhammadu Buhari through the protest.

Sowore had met with Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who had fled Nigeria.

The government feared that Nnamdi Kanu may have planned to join hands with Sowore to overthrow Buhari through the planned #RevolutionNow protest.

His lawyer Femi Falana assured the court that his client will meet the bail conditions.
