Since Mr. Simon Achuba the Deputy governor of Kogi State fell out with his boss Governor Yahaya Bello, he has been through a lot.
The number two man in Kogi state went public about his travails at the hand of Alh. Yahaya Bello and other states Excos who have stripped him of the dignity that a deputy governor should have.
The government of Kogi state has recently initiated impeachment proceedings against him.
Many players in the political field expected the deputy governor to have honorably resigned but he has not. Mr chuba has chosen to endure the embarrassment of been impeached from his position as deputy governor.
Weighty allegations such as dereliction of duty and many more were brought against him and key players in the government have been testifying against him.
Mr. Achuba has denied any wrongdoing and claimed that the governor had launched a political witchhunt to remove him.
Recently, the Secretary to the State government Mrs. Folashade Arike has testified against him claiming that for 11 months he was inexcusably absent at state meetings.
If Mr. Achuba is eventually impeached, it will pave the way for governor Yahaya Bello to achieve his plan of installing his chief of staff as deputy governor as speculated.
His impeachment will also help the governor to handle any political impact that his deputy may have on his campaigns if he decides to leave his party.
