The Nigerian federal House of Representative has given a standing ovation to an outstanding Nigerian and CEO of Air Peace Allen Onyeama for volunteering to airlift Nigerians from troubled South Africa at no cost to the federal government.
Shortly after news of the xenophobic attack broke out, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace had made it public that air peace will convey Nigerian returnees from South Africa at no cost to the federal government.
Two batches of Nigerians have already been successfully airlifted back to Nigeria while more are still on the way. His decision to help Nigeria and Nigerians have generated reactions from the government and the general public.
At a time of economic difficulty, Mr. Allen Onyeama had proven what patriotism truly means. He was also received at the office of the Speaker of the house of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila where he got commendations and praises for his heroic act.
In a very emotional reaction, the Air peace boss said that he has never been this honored a sign that Nigeria duly appreciated him for his kind gesture.
The xenophobic attacks in South Africa was one incident that shook the entire African world because of the immense contribution of respective African countries to the fight against apartheid.
Nigeria played a vital role in supporting its South African brothers during the struggle.
