What began in Lagos state as a feud between the then governor Akinwumi Ambode and his political godfather Bola Ahmed Tinubu has degenerated so much that even after losing his second term bid, Ambode has suffered harassment from anti-graft agencies over allegations of corruption.
A group known as Lagos Youth Vanguard (LYV) has recently launched a public protest to the Lagos state house of assembly seeking the probe of the administration of former governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The former governor has been faced with so many allegations of graft since he left office a few months ago. His residence has been raided by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a desperate search for evidence.
However, supporters of the former governor claim that the protesters
were hired by those who are bent on tarnishing Ambode's image even after
he supported the party after he was denied a second term.
Ambode may face more troubles in the months ahead because he is still seen as a very influential politician who can upset the APC in Lagos state.
