President Muhammadu Buhari has demanded that the Head of Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita embark on an indefinite leave pending the determination of a case of duty tour forgery and N3billion bribery allegation against her. This will be with immediate effect, pending investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mrs. Oyo-Ita had faced a serious controversy over some documents alleged to have been forged by her and a bribery allegation amounting to N3billion.
Until her suspension, she had continued to carry out her public assignments and had even taken part in meetings organized by the Presidency.
Mrs. Oyo-Ita denied the allegations and claimed that some powerful forces in the presidency are after her. Just when most people thought that the differences had been ironed out, the news of her suspension came.
She had been the Head of Service for most of Buhari's first tenure. A new Acting Head of Service, Yemi Esan has been appointed with immediate effect.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) began a criminal investigation against the Head of Service since August on a contract scandal amounting to N3billion Naira. The accounts involved have been blocked while investigation is still ongoing.
