Ekiti Teachers Miss Fayose On World Teachers Day

As the world Celebrates World Teachers Day on October 4, teachers across the world are being celebrated for their efforts in building the next generation of society. Teachers in Ekiti state are however missing the dynamic Ayodele Fayose.

Former governor Ayodele Fayose was renowned for his efforts to give teachers their pride of place in Ekiti state through his teachers centered educational model which saw Ekiti taking the first place in national exams during his tenure.

Fayose believed that if teachers are well motivated, their students will perform better. On special days like the world teachers day, the governor gave out prizes to the best teacher’s across Ekiti state handing out car keys and cash to teachers.

But on this year’s world teacher’s day, there was no news of such in the state. While teachers who were fortunate to have won prizes during the Fayose administration will continue to miss him, many teachers who could have benefited from the motivation scheme miss the governor even more.
