Fayemi - Afe Babalola Backs Ekiti Cargo Airport

Nigeria is facing a very difficult economic situation at the moment; State governors are finding it hard to pay salaries. Ekiti state is not different as the nonpayment of salaries by the former governor of the state Ayodele Fayose whose preferred candidate lost the governorship election.

The new governor Kayode Fayemi has flagged off a massive cargo airport project in the state. The airport when completed will help to airlift Agricultural products to other states since Ekiti state’s economy is dependent on Agriculture.

However, Fayemi is not the only brain behind the cargo airport project. The renowned educationists Aare Afe Babalola is also supporting the project, he was the leader of the committee set up by the governor of Ekiti state to do a feasibility study of the project.

Ekiti state is also partnering with the African Development Bank (AFDB) and the African Export and Import Bank (AEIB).
