Hardship – Fayemi Calls For Scrap of the Nigerian Senate

The chairman of the Nigerian governor forum and the current governor of Ekiti State John Kayode Fayemi has called for a scrap of the Nigerian senate. The governor made the call when he was reacting to the hardships and economic difficulty in Nigeria.

Fayemi’s comments are coming just after a former governor of Imo state and senator representing Imo West In the senate called for the drastic reduction of the number of senators from each state.

Nigerians are unhappy about the state of the economy and the actions of the government in recent times, including the recent budget which has been described as a budget of taxation.

The budget is considered an anti-people budget that seems to favor the rich and exploit the poor.

Fayemi is calling for a bicameral senate which he considers to be the alternative to the current high number of lawmakers in both the senate and the house of representatives.
