Android phones and other smartphones used by Nigerians were not originally made for the Nigerian audience. They contain certain general features that are applicable to phone users all over the world.

But when it comes to checking spellings for Nigerian names and a common vocabulary, most Android and smartphones will score zero.

Many Nigerians have sent official messages with avoidable blunders generated by these phones that seem to want to recolonize the African mind.

Artificial intelligence away from scientific dogma may be a way of reengineering the world according to the taste of the few powerful ones.

Africans do not make such devices so they are at the receiving end of some of these blunders. It is until the user has made several corrections on his devices that it is admitted as an acceptable word.
