INEC Sets November 16 As The DateTo Decide Dino, Smart's Fate

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set November 16 as the day in which Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will seal their fate.

It is worthy of mention that November 16 is the date for the governorship election in the state. Political activities in Kogi state is at an all times high as various political parties are busy campaigning for their candidates.

It was in the build-up to the election that the appeal court ordered a rerun election between the two rivals Dino Melaye and Smart Adeyemi.

Smart who is a former senator went to court to challenge the election victory of Senator Dino Melaye to the Nigerian senate and won.

He also succeeded at the appeal court when the court ordered a rerun. There are fears in the camp of the APC that the people of the constituency may take the election to be a referendum on the two senators.

Whoever gets more support in the senatorial election will also earn the victory for his party.
