INEC To Disqualified Parties, You Cannot Substitute Now

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared that parties whose candidates were disqualified from taking part in the forthcoming elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States can no longer substitute candidates because according to law, the time for that has elapsed.

Some candidates presented for the governorship elections were disqualified by INEC for failing to meet the requirements provided in the constitution for the position that are contesting for.

INEC representatives made the announcement while giving an update on the forthcoming elections and appeal by some parties whose candidates were disqualified to substitute their candidates.

The leading candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) are expected to dominate politics in both Kogi and Bayelsa state ahead of the polls.

Political parties and their candidates have also begun their campaigns ahead of the polls.
