Jonathan's Home On Fire, As Members Dump PDP

The influence of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the politics of Bayelsa state became questionable after he alleged preferred candidate failed to clinch the People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket.

Seriake Dickson’s candidate won instead. Although loyalists of the former president dismiss claims that Jonathan supported one candidate over another in the party primary, they seem to be jittery as news of the defection of some PDP bigwigs began to trend online.

Political speculators have predicted a very stiff contest in the forthcoming Bayelsa governorship election Because of the large support enjoyed by the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The recent defection of Chief Robert Enogha and Chief Claudius Enegesi from the PDP to the APC also sparked debates on the influence of the former president.

If the APC aggressively seeks the governorship seat in Bayelsa with the support of the APC government and the powerful Timipre Sylva who is one of Buhari’s ministers ten the chances of Jonathan’s party, the PDP will be very slim.
