Lai Muhammed – We Have Defeated BokoHaram, What We Have Now Is ISWAP, ISIS

The minister of information and culture Alhaji Lai Muhammed has reinstated his earlier claim that the dreaded Boko haram group has been technically defeated. Lai Muhammed stated this while paying a visit to the new headquarters of the Sun Newspapers.

He also stated that the minister of information and culture is also combating fake news in Nigeria.

While clarifying a statement attributed to him in 2015 in which he said that Boko haram has been defeated, the minister insisted that he still stands by his earlier statement because what Nigeria is fighting today is international terrorism.

The former Boko haram insurgency battle lasted from 2009 to 2015 after it was won by the Nigerian government.

He admitted that the current terrorism challenge facing Nigeria is beyond the country and therefore international help and assistant are being sought to combat the international terrorists.
