Makarfi To Nigerian Workers – Stop Asking For Minimum Wage

The former National caretaker chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sen Ahmed Makarfi has called on Nigerian Workers to stop asking fror money from the government through minimum wage.

He stated that it will not do any good to ask the government for an increment of N10 and then be made to pay a tax of N30. Workers should hold the government to account and ensure that there is accountability in the activities of the government, that is what is needed and not more money, Makarfi said.

If the government does what they are supposed to do, then there will be no need for a minimum wage increase. Makarfi who is a member of the Unity Schools Old Student Asociation said this during the 36 plenary and annual general meeting of the association.

He opined that the Unity Schools is one of the examples of how the policy of government can be effective in fostering unity in the country and that the same should be applied to other areas.
