N10bn Bailout - Like Wada, Like Bello

A few months to the election that brought the All Progressives Congress to power in Kogi state, the former governor Idris Wada wrote to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigerian Government pleading for bailout funds to pay salaries and provide infrastructure.

His request was processed but funds were not released to him for certain reasons. It was believed that if the funds were released to Captain Idris Wada just a few months to the election, he will divert it to campaign and woo voters.

Captain Wada never got the funds, they were paid months after he lost the election. In the same vane, governor Yahaya sought funds and his case was quite different.

As a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) the bailout was forthcoming not minding that elections are just a few weeks away. Governor Bello has the funds which are supposed to help clear salaries and fund projects across the state.

However, Politics in Nigeria depends on money and politicians should not carry all the blames. Voters who most times vote for the highest bidder are largely responsible for the money politics in Nigeria.

Kogites are in dire need of development and they are hopeful that their governor will not use the N10bn for election campaigns.
