Nigeria's former President Goodluck Jonathan has met with President Buhari in what has been widely described as a closed-door meeting. Jonathan was seen looking very cheerful with Buhari as the two men exchanged pleasantries.
The former president arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 3 pm on Thursday and went straight into the President's office. Ere was no information on why the former president went to Aso rock.
It is recorded that Jonathan last visited the villa in 2016 when he claimed that some issues needed his attention at the villa.
However, members of the public have been unsettled by the visit of the former president who is still a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition party.
Jonathan's media aides who are known to have often criticized President Muhammadu Buhari are usually silent on such visits. His visit has raised so many questions on the relationship between the two leaders.
Since his exit from power in 2015, President Jonathan has been doing a lot of international peace and democracy promotion across Africa.
