The Nigerian University Commission (NUC)
has urged members of the public to disregard any report on a list of Nigerian
Universities ranked according to their quality of education.
The NUC maintained that no University in
Nigeria can be ranked as better than others because there are no modalities for
doing the ranking since it is still being worked out.
The secretary of the NUC was a guest at
the 6th convocation of Baze University in Abuja. Tahir Mamman extended the
felicitation of the NUC of the University
Students in Nigeria are known to share
the view that some Universities are better than others. They even have lists of
Nigerian Universities ranked in order of quality services.
But the statement made by the secretary
of the NUC has sent a strong signal to students across Nigeria who may still
have such lists.
