What many people find to be bizarre took place at All Saints Catholic Church in Abuja when a couple took the sacred sacrament of holy matrimony during mass on Sunday.
Most people are familiar with having weddings on Saturdays but it was quite different for Mark and Florence who joyfully tied the knot on a Sunday.
Worshippers in their numbers who had attended mass were stunned when the parish priest announced that there was going to be a wedding ceremony.
There was no major difference between the Sunday wedding and the ones held on Saturdays except for the printing of church programs and payment of a certain fee to the choir and other ministers.
The wedding was the talk of the town as many youths who do not have the money for elaborate Saturday wedding ceremonies are now encouraged to have a Sunday wedding with a full church in attendance.
At the time of composing this, friends and well-wishers were already trooping to the residence of the couple for the reception.
