Abuja is notorious for having mobile criminals who operate along busy roads by kidnapping unsuspecting members of the public and dispossessing them of their valuables.
A similar incident happened in Dutse Alhaji, Abuja when it was alleged that a woman who was screaming was pushed out of a moving car. It was alleged that the woman had hinted that the three men in the car were kidnappers.
Her alarm drew the attention of motorcycle riders and other car drivers who quickly stopped the men from driving off. But within a short time, some mobs had set the three alleged kidnappers ablaze, burning them to ashes before security personnel arrived at the scene.
Some onlookers praised the action of the mobs as the most effective way to deter criminals from engaging in crime but others condemned the action as jungle-justice.
