The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has announced the death of his mother on his social media page. The IPOB leader claims that the suffering of the Biafra people and the haunting of her children lead to her death.
He stated that his mother had battled illnesses for a long time before eventually dying at a hospital in Germany even before he made the all-important trip to the United Nations.
Kanu revealed that her death though painful did not deter him from pursuing the Biafran cause which is very important.
IPOB sympathizers in Nigeria have expressed sadness over the news of her death calling it a great loss to the Biafran nation.
However, some IPOB followers wondered why their leader did n0ot declare a day of mourning over her death or announce it immediately so that they could show their solidarity with him in his time of grief.
