The chairman of the
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof Mahmoud Yakub has cried
out about plots by hoodlums to disrupt the forthcoming elections in Kogi and
Bayelsa state.
Although the INEC boos did not say exactly which party the hoodlums plan
to work for, the allegation certainly has a lot to do with the Kogi state
election which has witnessed some threats even as the cam0piagns are ongoing.
The fears of the INEC boss were assured by the security agencies who were
present at the security meeting. They will be providing enough security
personnel to man polling centers in the state and have guaranteed security
during and after the polls.
A show of desperation has been exhibited by both sides and it seems that
the security challenges anticipated might be even more damning.
