INEC - We Will Not Disqualify Bello for Double Registration

Ahead of the November 16 governoship election in Kogi state, the independent National Electoral omission (INEC) has announced that it will disqualify Governor Yahaya Bello over double registration.

The case of double registration has remained one of the big cases against Yahaya Bello who many people believed worked against his own party the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

Bello was alleged to have done multiple registrations. Many opposition members think that the weighty allegations will lead to the disqualification of Governor Bello.

But INEC has cleared the air on the matter stating that it will not disqualify governor Bello because the Nigerian Electoral Act did not make provision for the disqualification of a candidate who engaged in multiple registrations whether proved or not.
