Nigerians Blast Emefiele for Recommending 2 Years Border Closure

When the governor of the central bank of Nigeria who happens to be the longest-serving CBN governor made a speech at convocation ceremony in Benin not many people were happy with him.

Emefiele is from the Southeastern part of Nigeria and has been the CBN governor since the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

He is a firm supporter of the Muhammadu Buhari administration and many people consider him as a man of very high political profile. He did not oppose the government like his predecessor Emir Sanusi who accused the then government of gross corruption and inefficiencies.

Emefiele has stood by Buhari through it all and it seems that the public is just getting to know how influential he is in this government.

Emefiele seems to support the closure of the country’s border for another two years as the surest way to end insecurity and banditry.

Since the news of his claims broke out, Nigerians who are already feeling the heat lashed out at the privilege CBN governor for daring to delve out of his portfolio as CBN governor into security matters.
