Now That Natasha Is Back

It is barely 10 days to the governorship election in Kogi state and the court has directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to admit the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) back into the ballot.

Natasha Akpoti was earlier disqualified by INEC for failing to meet certain conditions. Her disqualification meant a lot to Governor Bello who at that time was struggling to gather support.

Now that Natasha is back is uncertain what influence she can have on the election since the majority of people from Kogi central want Bello to continue.

Any attempt to grow her base in the senatorial district may be met by stiff opposition from Bello's supporters who are not ready to miss any chance of getting votes..

If Natasha is left untamed, she can do substantial damage to Governor Bello's support base. Her followers are mainly some educated youths who are tired of mainstream political parties.
