Nnamdi Kanu the acclaimed leader of the
proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra seems to be playing a political card to
win Buhari’s approval to come home to Nigeria for his mother's funeral.
As it stays, he has
violated his bail conditions by fleeing Nigeria so one would expect that he
would be picked up by relevant state actors if he ever shows up in Nigeria.
Nnamdi Kanu never
thought that he would be forced to return someday. But how time flies as the
IPOB chieftain has been lobbying for a peaceful return.
Buhari had taken the
case of IPOB quite seriously from the beginning being patient enough to wait
till the group committed some offenses which made them liable for proscription.
Opinion in the public
space vary on whether Buhari should permit Nnamdi Kanu who has smeared his
character on many occasions to return for his mother's funeral from Britain to
the zoo which he tagged Nigeria.
