After Mr Kola Balogun
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared as the winner of the Oyo
South senatorial election, former governor Abiola Ajimobi went to court to seek
redress but his efforts to upturn Balogun's victory has failed.
He contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a
party that had a candidate different from his. He supported another party for
the governorship seat.
However, Ajimobi claims that he was the winner of the election and not
Balogun. He lost his bid to reclaim his mandate at the tribunal and have just
lost at the appeal court.
The verdict of the Appeal court has finally dashed the hopes of former governor
Abiola Ajimobi who has a keen interest in becoming a senator.
Although the verdict of the Appeal court has gone viral, Ajimobi and his
campaign team are yet to issue a public statement.
