The
Kogi State Agency for the Control of Aids (KOSACA) has announced that the HIV
disease is still prevalent in the state. It stated that about 16000 people in
Kogi state are living with HIV which is not being treated.
Despite a huge amount
of resources that have gone in to address the HIV scourge and the tremendous
progress that has been made, the disease remains a challenge and a burning
national issue.
According to
Kogireports a media outlet that published the information, there are plans to
intensify efforts to curb the menace of HIV prevalence and spread in Nigeria.
The fight against HIV
in Nigeria has been holistic with a national body which is the National Agency
for the Control of Aids (NACA) and respective state agencies that can help
facilitate the strategies in their respective states.
