Conservative
muslims in Nigeria are not happy with the deputy governor of Kaduna state Mrs
Hadiza who is a woman for again violating ann important aspect of Islamic
practice by having a handshake with a man as a married woman.
She was attacked barely
a month ago for not wearing her hijab at a public function attended by
respected leaders and clerics.
She appeared without a hijab and was dressed in
attires that are also unIslamic according to some people.
When a photo of her
having a handshake with former president Obasanjo who visited Kaduna surfaced
online, Conservative Muslims went after her.
An argument broke out
between her supporters and Muslim conservatives on account of the photo as they argued about Islamic
practice.
Some even accused
President Buhari of shaking hands with other people's wife which is a wrong
practice in Islam to justify the Kaduna Deputy governor's action.
Being the first deputy
governor who is a Muslim in Kaduna and a woman Mrs Hadiza has suffered much
criticisms from the male-dominated conservative Islamic Kaduna state.
She may turn out to be
one of the most controversial Muslim women in Nigeria after Buhari's wife Mrs
Aisha.
