Youths in Nigeria have continuously groaned
over the state of unemployment in Nigeria and the government's lack of
political will to tackle the menace.
They further vent their frustration at the
government recently during the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) examination
for recruitment which took place in Abuja.
One applicant (Name
withheld) described the crowd at the center as massive and unimaginable bearing
in mind that fewer than a hundred persons are needed by the agency.
The process was seen as
largely disorganized as officials of the agency did not anticipate the large
turnout of candidates. In his words, they were overwhelmed.
He also narrated how
candidates broke through a fence to gain access to the venue of the exam
leading to chaos. The same scenario plays out each time federal agencies carry
out their recruitment due to poor planning.
