Kogi Workers Decry Non-Payment of Salaries, Give Ultimatum

After publicly announcing that the Kogi state government was not owing civil servants a dime, workers in Adavi Local government have complained about the non-payment of their salary for over two months now.

They accused the administrator of Adavi cal government area Mr Joseph Amuya of being behind their predicament.

According to sources workers in Kogi state have been getting percentage payments for many months and they were not complaining.

Things only got out of hand in Adavi local government because while others got their percentage payment in other local governments, teachers and local government workers in Aavi did not get paid.

Adavi is one local government along with many others that gave maximum support to the All Progressives Congress’s candidate governor Yahaya Bello whose campaign for reelection was smeared by allegations of non-payment of workers' salary.

The teachers and workers in Adavi have given the administrator an ultimatum to pay their salary or be faced with civil action.
