The
mother of the immediate past governor of Ondo State Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has
passed on. She died of an undisclosed ailment at the ripe old age of 88 leaving
behind children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mimiko who is fondly called “Iya Ruka” has been described by many people who
know her as an exceptional woman who raised responsible children.
Meanwhile, dignitaries
have been sympathizing with Dr. Olusegun Mimiko over the loss. Recall that Dr.
Olusegun Mimiko, Olowarotimi Akeredolu (Aketi) and a host of others received an
award just two days ago.
Iroko, as he is
popularly known, is considered as one of the most relevant Yoruba politicians
that has a prominent role to play in Nigerian politics.
