A few days after the
landmark conviction of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for fraud amounting to over N7bn,
a photo of the senator has emerged in which he appeared stressed and depressed.
He senator was wearing
his black dress and he appeared hopeful that while he remains in custody
something will be done about his predicament.
Orji Uzor Kalu’s
lawyers intend that the outcome of the judgment will be appealed at the Supreme
Court and while that is awaited Kalu will remain in custody.
It is also possible
that being a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) he may get a soft
landing or political solution from the APC.
Kalu was quoted by the
Nations newspapers to have said that he has eaten nothing since his conviction.
