Nigerians
have been reacting to a news report that the Senate President, Senator Ahmed
Lawan has launched a free vaccination program for animals, especially cattle in
Nigeria.
Senator Lawan had
received a rousing welcome to Yobe state after he visited a popular market that
was gutted by fire. His constituents lined the routes to the market to welcome
him.
While some people have
argued that the money used for free animal vaccination could have been used to
vaccinate and immunize humans who were suffering from a wide range of diseases
especially childhood diseases, others insisted that it was necessary.
Their support for the
free animal vaccination program is because a large number of people in Yobe
North which is Lawan's constituency are farmers who engage in animal husbandry.
