There
are indications those senators who displayed a deep sense of cohesion when they
elected Ahmed Lawan and Omo-agege as Senate Presidents and Deputy senate President are no longer united.
Many of them are no
longer happy about the leadership style of senator Ahmed Lawan. Some people
have described his senate as a rubber stamp senate where bills are not
thoroughly scrutinized.
Senator Ahmed Lawan has
on his part said severally that whatever Buhari sends to the senate will be
passed because the president has the interest of Nigerians at heart.
Recently it was
speculated that senators stood down a motion that seeks to pass a vote of
confidence on Senator Ahmed Lawan led senate.
Politicking at the moment has also become a
serious affair because of the 2023 general elections.
There are fears that
there might be a leadership crisis in the senate if dissatisfaction continues
to grow among senators.
