Why Nigerian Governor Who Banned Opposite-sex from Using the Same Tricycle Suspended The Plan

When the executive governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje declared a ban on members of the opposite sex traveling in the same tricycle

It generated mixed reactions across the country but an uneasy calm enveloped Kano state.

But on social media, reactions were highly critical with many people calling for a ban not just on tricycles but even on airplanes. Photos of the governor sitting by women in airplanes also flooded social media.

Then suddenly, those who were supporting the decision as Islamic started praising the governor for the initiative. Some even narrated experiences of how immorality can be reduced on tricycles if the ban is implemented.

Critics felt that the law will only apply to the poor who board tricycles and not the rich that can afford to travel in their private cars and airplane.
