"You Must Choose Your Successor", Pastor Tunde Bakare Tells Buhari

The Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly Pastor Tunde Bakare has called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to leave anything to chance and sit on the fence over his successor. He was reacting to Buhari's statement that anyone who wants to succeed him must work for it.

Tunde Bakare who once contested as vice-presidential candidate with Muhammadu Buhari wants the president to choose his successor so that his legacies can be protected.

According to him, if the president does that, he will be following the examples of other world leaders who have tried to choose who will succeed them.

His views have generated so much controversy and reactions from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr Osita Chidoka a notable PDP chieftain condemned the statement attributed to Bakare. He urged President Buhari not to interfere in the process that will produce his successor.
