MUST READ: 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗪𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡

If you are a lover of twins, triplets, quadruplets or more, you should read this.

Every month, a woman releases an egg from her ovary into the fallopian tube where it waits to be fertilized by sperm. If fertilization happens, the egg develops into a foetus(baby).

𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀,𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲

Sometimes, this fertilized egg may split into two or more and the result is an identical twin or triplet. Babies look alike and are of the same sex because they splited from one egg. Identical quadruplets are also possible but rare(about one in 11–15million births).

𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹(𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹) 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀

Every woman has two ovaries and while it is less common, a woman can release more than one egg from either one ovary or both ovaries. This is known as "Hyperovulation".

When two or more eggs are released and are fertilized by different sperm, they would result in fraternal twin, triplet or more. Babies could be of the same sex or different sex.

𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹

Amazingly, a woman could get identical babies in a set of triplet or more. This would be if the woman(we are assuming) releases two eggs and one of those eggs splited into two and the other develops as a single foetus.

Assume again that she releases 3 eggs and one of them splits into two and the other two each develops as single foetus, the result will be 2 identical and 2 unidentical babies, a total of four which is a quadruplet. Look at that!

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘀?

1. Women with family history of twin or other multiples. Yes! Gene plays a role.

2. Women older than 30 years are likely to release more than one egg.

3. Women on fertility treatment. Some fertility medication may stimulate the ovaries to release more than one egg. Assisted reproductive technique such as IVF may also increase the odds of having multiples.

4. Being an African. Africans are known to have more twins and multiples.

5. Studies have shown that obese or tall women are more likely to have twins or more.

6. Women who are just coming off birth control may release multiple eggs.

7. The Yoruba tribe(Igbo-ora) in Nigeria is known to have the highest rate of twin in the world. The reason for this has been linked to their cassava and yam diet. It is believed that these tubers contains phytoestrogen that may cause a woman to release more than one egg.

If una like, make una go dey chop Yam and cassava anyhow😎 Yam na your mate?😄😜

8. To some it just happens irrespective of the factors mentioned above.

𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮

If you are one who feels ovulation pain and you have felt pain on both sides of your lower abdomen, this might be indicative that your ovaries each released an egg at the same time.

It has also been said that when you have more pain on one side than usual, your ovary may be releasing more than one egg.

Some women have also reported increased white, stretchy, raw egg-white like vaginal discharge around ovulation.

That said, the only accurate way of detecting Hyperovulation is through an ultrasound.

I Love you!
